ONLY now, after three rounds, Lindsay Davenport and Amelie Mauresmo are starting to become blips on the Australian Open radar screen.
The pair are happy to adopt a ``stealth" approach to the draw, leaving American Venus Williams and Belgians Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin-Hardenne to take the limelight.
But Davenport and Mauresmo, with three solid wins under their belts, are finding they have nowhere left to hide.
Mauresmo crashed her way through to the fourth round with a comprehensive 6-1 6-2 win over Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues yesterday.
The fourth-seeded Frenchwoman has lost just six games all tournament.
Davenport, seeded fifth, completed a 6-4 6-0 win over fellow American Laura Granville after overcoming a shaky start.
Mauresmo now meets South Australian Alicia Molik, the last Australian woman left in the draw.
Molik beat Claudine Schaul from Luxembourg 6-7 6-1 6-2.
Davenport is returning after being sidelined for much of last year through injury, and already showed she is closing in on peak form with her play in Sydney last week. She said she was eager to regain the spotlight she held four years ago.
